Matt Walls
The oak is quite upfront for now, but there`s an intense salinity and freshness underneath. Long, straight, focussed, mineral expression. Long finish, good sense of direction. Has the depth of fruit you`d want from Condrieu, and the minerality that`s so important in this vintage for freshness. Very full-bodied, broad and plenty of puppy fat. Grown on biotite granite, fermented then matured for 18 months in barriques with natural yeasts. 94 points
