Alistair Cooper MW
Going through malolactic fermentation when tasted. Barrel sample. A nice subtle hit of smokiness on the nose with marzipan and honey. Really rich with a mealy note and spiced pear compote. Needs time to integrate and shows real depth of fruit also. A nutty tinge on the finish. Big and gawky at the moment but shows power and weight and also finesse. 17+ points
