Energy and intensity are the words that spring to mind on tasting this. Aromas of lime and peach jump out of the glass as I sniff and these are amplified on the palate with added blossom, pear and orange pith flavours. The acidity is bright and makes the fruit flavours more vivid. You might, for a moment htink of a top Rheinhessen Riesling; you might not immediately place this in old school Italy. But this is truly the magic of Arneis. Fermented and matured in stainless steel I`m sure this has a bit of skin contact, either way it`s a brilliant wine. It`s versatile, going great guns with pesto dishes, Camenbert, prawn pasta and many other foods. It would be a rather marvellous companion to east Asian cuisine of many types. (CW 12/04/21)
