Riper fruit notes (pear, cantaloupe melon) meet brighter citrus (lemon and lime) before herbal elements (fennel and grass seed) come together on the finish. The mid palate has a certain creamy weight, but the finish is still bright and zippy; the attractive contrast reflects the way the wine was raised partly in barrel, partly in steel tank. A lovely study in contrasts. (NT 08/01/21)

Straw-gold. Dried pear, peach and floral qualities on the nose, and a subtle herb nuance in the background. Pliant and open-knit, offering fleshy orchard and pit fruit and honey flavors and a touch of bitter orange pith on the back half that adds refreshing bite. Finishes on a pleasingly bitter note, with gentle grip and a spicy snap of candied ginger. 90 points

I can see the soft and tender character of the 2019 vintage in the wines, starting with the 2019 Quinta Apolonia. It has varietal character (despite having some 5% other grapes) and classical notes of freshly cut grass, peach, quince and straw and a super balanced palate with clean flavors with very good delineation. 68,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020. Belondrade is doing a lot of work toward the sustainability of their vineyards and business. The 2019 Belondrade y Lurton is already certified organic. Bravo! 91 points
