Dense cherry, red plum and blackberry flavours abound in the 2018 Syrah from Yves Cuilleron. It is rich and warming with silky, mouth-coating tannins and a subtle hint of vanilla. There is plenty of vibrant acidity to balance out the richness though, making for a satisfying, complete and extremely moreish wine, perfect for a mid-week evening serviced alongside something wholesome and robust like a cottage pie or lamb hotpot. Josh Raynolds
Deep violet. Ripe dark fruits, violet, licorice and a hint of smokiness on the deeply perfumed nose. In a lush, round, fruit-forward style, offering blackberry and cherry flavors that turn spicier on the back half. Finishes long and smooth, with repeating spiciness and subtle tannic grip. 10% whole clusters. 90 points
