Julia Harding
50% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc. Intense cassis nose though I feel the alcohol a little initially. Pretty chewy and concentrated, taking no prisoners but I can see this might come round with quite a long time in bottle, though it is a bit short on acidity for a really long life. Hard to assess. No fun right now. 15.5 points

The blend here is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. This is a nose which suggests some serious intent, dark and roasted, with grilled fruits, led by damson and black cherry, with a rose-petal vibrancy. The palate shows real harmony and glorious substance, with a very fresh, polished and plush character, carrying scents of cherry, violets, rose petals and chocolate. The structure is delightful, with a firm grip of velvety tannins, giving it a punchy and precise character, supported by the palate`s vigorous acidity. This is delicious, fresh, bright and structured, and it possesses a long finish filled with those delightfully velvety tannins. A great showing from this estate, a name to follow in St Estèphe. 93-95 points

The 2018 Sérilhan is plump, juicy and inviting, with lovely depth soft curves and plenty of immediacy. Ripe red fruit, cinnamon, blood orange and floral notes all run through this supple, racy Saint-Estèphe. Today, the new oak is a bit overpowering, but the wine appears to have the natural density to handle it. Let`s see how things develop with élevage. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
