The 2018 Clos la Coutale is from the Cahors AOC and comprises 70% Malbec (also known as Auxerrois or Cot), 15% Merlot and 15% Tannat. This has ripeness and body, with plenty of red and black berry fruit and a little vanilla richness from the oak, but retains plenty of freshness and is more medium than full in body. A great value Southern French red. (04/10/20 RRS)
