Julia Harding
80% lost to frost – Denis Durantou preferred to use their vineyard fan to protect L`Église-Clinet. 80% Merlot (harvested 14–22 September), 20% Cabernet Franc (18 September). Deep purple crimson. Smells of small, wild hedgerow berries and raspberry vitality. Second-fill barrels and just a hint of chocolate. Lovely freshness and that fine graphite note on the finish. Refined texture, just a little chewy for now, and lots of fruit and a persistent finish. 16.5 points
