A hearty, spicy wine. Dense and intense dark fruit make this a bottle of Vosne-Romanee to contend with. But there is fine acidity, and it is well-structured - everything is in place. Tannins are actually quite fine. This is only to get better. (NT 20/02/19)

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village, matured in 60% new oak, has a very pure bouquet of dark cherries and boysenberry fruit, beautifully defined and seamlessly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and quite dense for a Village Cru. The engaging, minerally finish offers a surfeit of freshness and tension. This comes highly recommended, although it will require three or four years to assimilate the new oak. 88-90 points
