Mobile phone in hand, our modern superhero (`the one from the bar`) flies to the rescue. But is the superhero really the vineyard, steep and difficult to farm, planted with vines ranging from 40 to 70 years old? Or is it the winemaker who seeks out these obscure parcels in his homeland? Silky, rich and concentrated, and lifted by its vibrant acidity, this is a lovely bottle of wine. And it`s aromatic, too, packed with plum and bramble, fig and violet. What`s not to like? It is produced from a field blend of indigenous varieties: Ferrol, Souson, Brancellao, Bastardo, Caino Longo, Caino da Terra, Carabuneira and Tinta Marela. Did you get all that?
