Spatlese gold kapsel
Delicious, almost luscious, with honey and a medley of ripe fruit aromas. The palate is delicate, despite the sweetness, lifted by zesty acidity on to a long, satisfying finish. An excellent pairing for spiced dishes, with some ageing potential but (in my opinion) at its delectable best right now. (JH 05/02/22)

The 2016 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese (Golden Capsule) has deep, clear and flinty bouquet of perfectly ripe and healthy fruits. Lush, round and elegant on the palate, this is a very delicate and harmonious Spätlese from Molitor`s most important grand cru. Its finish is salty-piquant, very precise and tickling, showing stimulating grip and mineral tension. Keep it for another 5 to 10 years. Tasted March 2018. 93+ points

Faint yeastiness lightly veils the nose, but behind that the impression is unmistakably tropical and decadent, suggesting Persian melon and mango mingled with peony perfume. The feel here is creamy, enveloping and buoyant; the soothingly sustained and prominently sweet finish – for now, at least – fails to capture the multiplicity of which this superb site is capable. 90 points
