Pure, refined, mountain Garnacha - exquisite aromas of strawberry, rose petal, fig and tea leaf. The aromas may evoke an aging Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but the palate is charged with youthful vigour. This is exquisite; powerful, but extremely light on its feet. Daniel Ramos works old vine vineyards in the Gredos Mountains west of Madrid, and El Altar is one of the best there is. Just ask the mountain goats that descend from the heights to browse Daniel`s grapes when he isn`t looking. (NT 13/11/20)
