Neal Martin
The 2016 La Bernadotte has a clean and precise bouquet with cigar smoke infused blackcurrant and bilberry fruit. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied and a little too oaky on the entry, however, there is satisfying depth to this Haut-Medoc and I appreciate the savory finish. 87-89 pointsWith firm, cedary oak tannins this has clearly gone the rounds with a barrel, but has some lovely juicy fruit to balance it out. An enjoyable wine that steals up on you and makes you smile. Owned by Hong Kong company King Power Group, this was formerly part of the Louis Roederer stable and now has Hubert de Bouard consulting. 89 points
