From the Monção and Melgaço subregion. Granite soils. Sunny site. The grapes are harvested manually in small boxes. After the pressing and before fermentation with controlled temperature, the must was decanted during 48 hours at low temperature. pH 3.2, TA 7 g/l. An excellent vintage with a long ripening season and cool nights in August. Still has a little bit of dissolved CO2 for freshness. Intensely aromatic peachy pear aromas, with some riper notes of mango, especially on the palate. Delicious fruit sweetness in a dry wine. Although it is very crisp and lively, the fruit flavours fill the mouth and are tempered by an almost chewy mineral/stony quality. Delicious now but very primary and will definitely repay keeping in bottle for up to 5 years thanks to perfect balance. 17 points
