2014 Jim Barry The Armagh Shiraz

Matured in 60% French and 40% American oak, the 2014 Jim Barry The Armagh has a fragrant and dark berry nose. Already approachable the complex fruit aromas are backed up by balanced oak scents. In the mouth the tannins are very fine and there’s a subtle streak of acidity underneath. It finishes with a slight salinity, but rich, autumnal fruit and oak flavours. Even this sample is delicious though it’s only just arrived in UK. (CW 26/09/18)

James Suckling

This flagship shiraz is both measured and richly fruited. It has a strong serve of bold oak across ripe, rich and dense old-vine fruit. Smells of mulberries, red plums and sweet baking spices. The long and silky palate is plump and supported by ample, silky tannins. Drink in the next two decades. 95 points
