They`ve been making wine at Meerlust Estate for longer than in most places in the so-called Old World. It shows; these guys really know what they`re doing. Plus they have ideal weather for winemaking, hot and sunny in the season, but with evening mists and sea breezes to keep things from getting overbaked. This is all cassis, vanilla and chocolate, a delicous, keenly-crafted South African Bordeaux blend. It`s also a complete steal at the price. (NT 28/04/16)
