One of the highlights in this tasting, the 2010 Larcis Ducasse is simply stunning. Although quite fresh, vibrant and intense, the 2010 is also very closed in on itself. Violet, lavender, graphite and menthol are some of the many notes that give the 2010 its energy and tension. Still very much closed, the 2010 is going to need a good few years to come into its own. Still, it is pretty impressive today. With time in the glass, the 2010 gives a very good idea of what is to come for those who can wait. 97+ points s

My sample of Larcis was unexpectedly taciturn but gradually unfurls to reveal notes of crème de cassis, blueberry, fresh violets and cherry liqueur. The palate is very rounded on the entry, supple tannins, good weight and purity towards the caressing finish, if not quite the tension or complexity of the 2009. A second bottle (a fresh example) is much more vibrant and precise. Tasted April 2011. 92-94 points

My best score for the estate en primeur. The first time I sampled it, I found it delicious but a little easy on finish, so I tasted it again once the press wine (12%) had been added to the final blend. The palate has gained in density, power and depth whilst remaining fat and melting. This wine is crammed with flavours and absolutely impossible not to swallow! Alcohol content. 15° - pH level. 3.40 - blend. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc. 92 points
