Stephen Tanzer
Good bright dark red. Pure, sappy aromas of red cherry, red licorice, mint and crushed stone. Silky, pure and stylish, with lovely racy, integrated acidity giving the middle palate outstanding verve and finesse. This really vibrates on the explosive back end, coating everything in its path and lingering with enticing perfume. Here the suave, fine-grained tannins reach the front teeth. Incidentally, a number of owners of this superb premier cru are now seeking to have Les Saint-Georges elevated to grand cru status, but the process could take several more years before a decision is made. 92-95 points
