Alexandre Moreau makes the finest example of Morgeot that I am familiar with and the 2010 is a great wine in the making. The wine offers up a very deep, pure and classy bouquet of apples, pear, lemon zest, beautiful, chalky soil tones, a deft framing of vanillin oak and a gentle touch of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and amazingly pure and transparent, with a silky core of fruit, racy acids, stunning focus and balance and a very, very long, utterly seamless finish. The is outstanding power and volume to the concentrated and mouth coating flavors that possess obvious muscle and punch before terminating in a balanced and seriously long finish.
