Founded in 1798, this Highland Distillery is one of Scotland`s oldest. It`s sited just outside Pitlochry on the Allt Dour Burn, which is also its water source. As is common with distilleries, it has had a string of owners, currently residing in the arms of Diageo. This bottling is rich and buttery, like shortbread. As if that weren`t Scottish enough, the necessary splash of water brings out heather flowers. Delicious. (NT 18/08/17)
