Down in a hollow right by the River Lossie, Glen Moray enjoys natural shelter from the wilder elements on the Cairngorm and Monadhliath mountains. This bucolic setting is well reflected in the gentler character of the malt. Finished in a former bourbon barrel, the first impression this gives is quite sweet, supported by a chalk-dust-and-agave character that could be at home in a bottle of tequila. Water brings whole new dimension, letting the salinity express itself alongside the fruit. (NT 21/08/18)
