Not one we see often, more’s the shame, but the spirit from this northern Highland distillery is mostly used for blending. Yet it has some avid fans, and a bottling like this proves how good it can get, easily as characterful as near-neighbours Dalmore and Glenmorangie. Green grass, orchard fruits and clove oil all characterise this delightful, complex whisky. Enjoy a dram of one of Scotland’s rarest malts. (NT 25/06/19)
