The famously soft, gentle dram of Tomintoul is brought to life by this sensational sherry butt. Luxuriously full and creamy, with notes of dried fruit and nut, orange and caramel, this is a delight. Tomintoul comes from wild walking country on the edge of the Cairngorms. It was founded by two Glaswegian whisky traders in the 1960s, and was named after the nearest village, but that’s still 8 miles away; the only thing really near the distillery is a forest and the river Avon.
