Neal Martin
Tasted single blind at Southwold. The nose is very closed - surly and backward. The palate is ripe, earthy with touches of black pepper. Firm tannins. Nice cohesion, backward and still unresolved, but with a nice austere finish that leaves the mouth fresh. Certainly a very good Pauillac, but nowhere near the First Growths! Tasted January 2009. Drink 2011-2020. 90 points
