Neal Martin
Reticent on the nose: dense tarry black fruits, touches of roasted herbs and graphite. Nice purity though and that opens up with aeration, allowing more figgy/damson aromas to show through. The palate is full-bodied, good ripeness and fruit concentration, good acidity, backward and dense but with assertive black tarry fruit on the finish. Could only be a Saint Estephe. Showing great precision and charm but it will need time. Drink 2015-2030. Tasted January 2009.
