The Brunet family have been big players in the Beaune area since the 1600s including providing no fewer than five mayors and this cuvee comprises some of their most generous gifts over the centuries. All from the premier cru area, three small parcels are represented: Les Bressandes, Les Cent Vignes and Le Bas de Teurons. The total area is 1.47 hectares. The vines were mostly planted between 1954 and 1976 with about 15% planted in 1999. The wine itself shows all the strcture and quality of the 2005 vintage and all the finesse of Burgundy`s premier crus. It is maturing beautifully and shows layers of complexity and fine tannins. There is a core of fruit and the tertiary flavours of mushroom, leaf-mould and game are developing well. (CW 22/03/19)
