Strathisla is often claimed to be the longest continually operating distillery in Scotland, having been founded in 1786 and run since them, namechanges, fires, reconstruction and the odd explosion notwithstanding. It`s a fairly below the radar malt, and this is the first Strathisla bottling we`ve ever had, as most of the production goes into the various Chivas Regal blends. What a pretty thing this is, fresh and floral, with just a touch of pepper, like a rocket, lemon and pear salad. (NT 22/02/17)
