Allen Meadows
From 4 different vineyards though two-thirds of the total is from Les Argillières, a lieu-dit that directly abuts Musigny on its northern border. Once again there is enough wood to notice but not so much as to seriously detract from the appreciation of the discreetly spicy mix of plum liqueur and red currant scents. There is a very rich, even succulent quality to the middle weight flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel due to the enveloping texture of the copious dry extract. This isn`t especially elegant but there is impeccably good balance and for those who enjoy a seductive Chambolle rather than one that is more mineral-driven, then this would be an excellent choice. 89-91 points
