The 2012 Volnay Village, cropped at a “massive” 10 hectoliters per hectare with 25% whole cluster fruit, is blessed with a fragrant bouquet with floral notes. hints of violets infusing the dark cherry and blueberry fruit. There is a marine-influence on the nose, the tannins supple with good concentration on the finish that is pure and silky. This is a superb village cru that will be very seductive. 90-91 points
