Sarah Marsh
This appellation lies above Porrets. Henry Gouges was very instrumental in drawing up the AC in NSG, and the INAO, in recognition of this help, gave him special permission to plant his mutant pinot in 1936. This is riper with a note of pineapple. Surprisingly rich on the attack with ripe pear notes and a very savoury edge. A broad, but straight palate. Firm acidity, not high, just firm (still lots of malic). Stony, pure and tight with cold minerality on the finish. Fine+. 18.25 points
