The attention to detail at this address is astonishing, with slow pressing of the juice to protect the wine later, larger than traditional barrels to achieve a beautiful oak/wine balance and wax sealing among other things. Garam masala on nose, plenty of ripe mandarine fruit, quite explosive, mineral, long with a stonefruit finish, very complex, lovely balance and plenty of matter. This has Pierre-Yves’ stamp all over it, combined with the freshness and finesse of the vintage. (CW 27/10/11)
