Wine tasting quizzes

These team events are a wonderful way to relax during or after a conference, or as a standalone occasion for entertaining staff, clients or suppliers.

The quizzes start with a 'learn to taste like a pro' ice breaker using the first wine, whose identity is known. Teams also have to choose a name for themselves. Thereafter all the wines are served blind. As they are poured, teams are given a multiple choice question sheet to complete, so no prior knowledge is necessary to win, though some history of wine drinking is advantageous! After a few minutes the sheets are collected, the wine revealed and explained. We'll tell you the answers, give a brief history of the wine and suggest a couple of possible food matches, then on to the next. While teams are tasting and discussing the next set of answers, we'll post the scores on a whiteboard or project them if facilities are available.

We usually have 6 to 8 wines and at the end a winning team is declared and prizes awarded.
