Frapin Friday is always a popular event, not least because Cognac expert Andrew Hawes also brings Mimolette cheese with him to prove that Cognac, and especially Frapin, of course, can match well with food.

Frapin is completely different from other Cognac houses in so many ways. They have over two hundred hectares of vines plumb in the middle of the heart of the region, on the chalkiest soil. This gives them total control over their brandies from before the beginning of the process. They do all their distilling themselves and their various cellars are stuffed with ageing eaux de vie. In fact, the average age of the Cognac in Frapin's cellars is almost three times the average in the region. It is no surprise then that Frapin is our favourite Cognac house with its rich, smooth and full bodied style. /CW
