'Simply put, 2007 is shaping up to be one of the finest Tuscan vintages of the last decade.' - Antonio Galloni, In the Cellar, May 2010

If you're reading this email, chances are, you already know the score about these wines. Amongst the best super-Tuscans, rich, opulent, in need of cellaring, and so on and so forth. These wines are consistently good, as Antinori has the resources for merciless fruit selection and doting affection in the cellar. But when a region like Tuscany has back-to-back exemplary vintages as they did in 2006 and 2007, we can really get excited about this estate producing stellar wines. Long hang time in 2006 from warm days and cool evenings left the growers little reason for concern. Whilst 2007 was one of Tuscay's meteorological oddities. A dry warm winter that caused an early bloom followed by a reasonably warm summer devoid of any heat waves, the growing season was a long one that allowed the fruit to reach full physiological ripeness. /CC
