Uncorked is, as you all know, a wine shop first and foremost. But many of you are also aware that we stock a carefully chosen range of spirits, focusing on single malts and brandies. We have 'our' gin, Hayman's London Dry, a single cask rum bottling from AD Rattray and a killer vintage bourbon, Evan Williams, amongst other spirits. We also carry two different vodkas - one that has a reflective, eye-catching bottle that people ask for by name (usually loudly, in bars). And Potocki from Poland, which simply tastes terrific and has real character. No spin, no long-winded marketing story, no fashion/music/media mogul's name on the label. Karen from Potocki Vodka will be on hand later this afternoon from 5 'til 7pm to introduce it if you don't know it already. Friday afternoon, payday, before a long, (potentially) sunny weekend. If one needs an excuse for a martini, which is debatable, this is surely it.
