We all know that in the past few years demand for Aussie wine has tapered off, largely thanks to the shenanigans of huge beer companies trying to make a quick buck at the expense of quality. We find the antithesis of this approach at Leeuwin Estate, the superlative property in Western Australia. They repeat the mantra of all the best growers: low yields, minimal intervention. Their (flagship) Art Series range is led by their Art Series Chardonnay, Australia's greatest white, and one of the world's most iconic wines. A Burgundian-styled offering (albeit a rich one) that rewards years of cellaring - a rarity, even amongst the best new world Chardonnays. But don't take our word for it.
