This superb terroir typically produces very good, sometimes outstanding wines, but one wonders if they couldn’t be sublime given the location of this small vineyard. The 2009 is at least very good. Its dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of licorice, subtle smoke, black cherry, and black currant fruit, a medium to full-bodied texture, silky tannins, and impressive purity. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Tasted two times. 88-90+ points

Tasted at Chateau Trottevieille and on two separate occasion at the Syndicate. The Merlots were cropped between the 17th and 28th September, the Cabernet Franc on 5th October at 37hl/ha, a blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, this has a lifted nose that shows much great precision than recent vintages of this ancient Pomerol vineyard.
