It`s a rare spirit that can survive forty years in wood, never mind thrive as this has done. Although the whisky is certainly old it doesn`t in the least taste tired. In fact this soft, oily, complex dram has citrus notes giving a lift of freshness to the buttery vanilla flavours and the softly lapping bass notes of chocolate and Christmas. (CW 14/09/11)
