Uncorked:

The husband-and-wife team who own and run this tiny estate just a kilometre from the Slovenian border built it together from scratch. She does all the marketing and sales while he – jokingly (I think) – says he refuses to travel anywhere he can’t reach on his tractor. Their inspiration is very much Burgundy as they look to make sophisticated wines of elegance and texture. The 2007 Rosso – a 50/50 blend of Refosco and Schioppettino – is superb. Three Glasses once again from the Gambero Rosso (its highest award) - juicy, velvety and highly complex. (AR 06/01/11)
