(from a 0.41 ha parcel). This always seems to be the class of the Chauvenet cellar and so it is again in 2007 with its reserved, ripe and highly complex nose that is almost animale in character while the intensely earthy dark berry fruit aromas convey accurately the character of the equally restrained but sense, serious and very powerful big-bodied flavors that offer excellent length on the palate staining finish. This is not as structured as it usually is though it will certainly be a 20 year wine. Drink 2014+. 90-92 points
