Allen Meadows:
From three very well situated parcels located in the northern portion of Nuits, specifically Lavières, Aux Allots and Aux St. Jacques. A completely different nose despite the relatively close proximity of these vineyards with Ravioles as here the aromas are somber, serious and while ripe, much more restrained as they reveal red, blue and black fruit plus ample earth that transfer to the equally serious and firmly structured flavors that are also supported by firm tannins on the austere finish. This is a concentrated effort for its level and will require a few years to soften enough to enjoy. 2013+. 86-88 points
