Uncorked:

This Graves wine shows all the supple qualities of that region. Plenty of primary fruit- blackberry and damsons, there are oak flavours- chocolatey coffee and a touch of smoke, and finally there are the aromas of complexity- tobacco and game. (CW 10/09/10) This is a new star in the Graves. The grand vin is superb, with a truly opulent nose of blackberries, blackcurrants, and chocolate,` says Stephen Brook in his 2007 book, The Complete Bordeaux. So despite having had this for a year, we can’t exactly claim to have discovered Crabitey. Here we have the 2004. Sadly, this is a vintage rapidly becoming scarce. The supple tannins and juicy character have made the wines appealing for drinking young. So don’t miss this. It may be juicy on the palate, but it’s savoury too, with an intriguing nose of graphite and stones. It’s proper Graves, drinking now – a compelling proposition at this price. But best of all, since it’s owned by an order of nuns, there’s no need to feel guilty about this one. (AR 29/09/11)

Jean-Marc Quarin:

Here is a Graves cru with a quality quite comparable to a Pessac Léognan. The wine smells nicely of fig and gingerbread. Entry is refined, and the wine offers medium corpulence with taste, fruit and fairly fine tannins. Good length. A very agreeable wine. 85 points
