John Livingstone-Learmonth:

(4 year 228-litre oak, from Corps de Loup) bit over 20% new oak this year. bright, quite full robe. Major reduction on the nose, but it has quite serious depth. The palate is firm, all sealed tight together, but the reduction is prevalent, places a barrier. (3 year 228-litre oak cask, from Corps de Loup) bright robe. Reductive nose, red cherry fruit air. The palate is full, but its malo is en route. Ends on chocolate, raisin nose. (2 year 228-litre oak, Côte Brune) ***(*) purple, violet top. Good, serious nose – the fruits shows dash and clarity, is expressive. There is a good mix of fruit and all in clear definition on the palate, with a gain in weight and content. Promising, and has the potential to be harmonious. Overall. very early days – certainly has the raw matter to become an interesting wine, ahead of both 2008 and 2007 in depth, I would suggest. 12 years. Tasted Nov 2009
